PhD Practice-Based Doctoral Award| 15-12-2014

Laura Cuch has gained an AHRC doctoral award to do a practice-based PhD in the Geography department at UCL, using photography to explore the domestic material culture of different faith communities in the suburbs of West London.

This PhD, due to start in January 2015, is part of an AHRC Research Grant called Making Suburban Faith. The research team involves: project leads Dr Claire Dwyer (UCL) and Prof David Gilbert (RHUL); Research Associate Nazneen Ahmed; two PhD students, Natalie Hyacinth (RHUL) and Laura Cuch (UCL); and project administrator Christian Sayer (UCL). Also, there will be artistic collaborations with architect Ali Mangera (Mangera Yvars Architects), photographer Liz Hingley and artist Katy Beinart.

Another Object Exhibition| 15-09-2014

The curatorial project Hand That Feeds is proud to collaborate with Stour Space on Another Object, an exhibition partaking in Photomonth 2014.

A selection of images frem Laura Cuch's new series The Bonfires of San Juan will be shown in the exhibition Another Object.

The portrait of Dolores from the series Trans has received a Special Mention in the Second Grünenthal Art Award 2011 | 11-11-2011

Grünenthal Pharma celebrated its II Grünenthal Art Award Ceremony on November 10th at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. The artist Miguel Ángel Tornero received the first prize of 10.000 € for his photograph entitled “Pain Killers-expert committee for pain”. The jury also gave a special mention to the artists: Juan Zamora for his picture “A tablet in the hand”, Juan de Sande, (untitled), and the work of Laura Cuch “Dolores”, from her series “Trans”.
